Vukovar Tribute Movie-Music Performance to be Held in Washington, DC

By 20 February 2018

Croatia's Hero City is to be honored across the Atlantic.

The film tribute and music performance called the “Battle For Vukovar” is coming to the USA for three weeks, from February 22 through March 10, 2018. These special performances will be held in nine American cities: Washington, DC, New York City, Cleveland, Detroit, St. Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee and will finish with two performances in California, in San Jose and Los Angeles. The production featuring a movie and live music, serves as a wonderful tribute and extends respect to the Croats who defended Vukovar and who sacrificed so much during the Homeland War. Also, in select cities there will be kolo dance groups added to the performance.

The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia, with Ambassador Pjer Simunovic and with three group sponsors, National Federation of Croatian Americans Cultural Foundation (NFCA), Association of Croatian American Professionals (ACAP) and Hrvatska Ura (HURA) will host the Washington DC performance on Thursday night, February 22nd. The 7:00 pm event to be held at the E Street Cinema at 555 11th Street NW. The program will feature a forty-nine minute film which was the creation of two Croatian war heroes from Vukovar and who will be special guests at this program, Damir Plavsic and Damir Markus. General Jacques Paul Klein, the United Nations Administrator who integrated Eastern Slavonia back into Croatia in the late 1990s, will be an honored guest speaker at this Washington, DC program.
