Paparazzing Around Set For Dig

Since Split (and Croatia) became more popular among film and TV series makers, it's not very unusual to almost accidentally run onto sets. For example, last few days crew for USA Network's series Dig moved to Split, which will dub Jerusalem, like Trogir few days ago. Today, I was walking around the city, and when came to Peristil square realised that gate toward Vestibule and southern parts of the Diocletian's Palace were closed. Small note revealed it's a series' set, with a kind request about crew not to be disturbed.

There was some repairing noise coming behind the barrier, and there was no chance I wasn't going to check what's going on. With some other fellow TV reporters I bypassed the barrier using recently opened passage with wooden stairs which leads straight to a small piazza wheree Vestibul Palace hotel is based.

Ilirske akademije - prolaz 2

And there they were. Few workers were setting up a scenography for this week filming, and the rest was under construction in nearby city park, called Djardin. Nothing much, but worht of mentioning. Fortunately, smartphone with a camera is much smaller than TV camera, and it was possible to sneak in. Stay tuned.

Split stage of Dig filming will last till February 11, when whole crew moves to Lika. Split was also setting for USA Network's triller last year.
