Croatia Provides Support to Croats in Vojvodina

ZAGREB, April 22, 2018 - An agreement was signed in Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia, on Saturday between the Croatian government and the Croatian National Council (HNV) in Serbia on a donation for the "Hrvatska Riječ" (Croatian Word) publishing company which will be used to buy land in Subotica and will enable the combining of premises for the HNV and the Institute for Culture of Vojvodina Croats.

Plenković: Serbian Defence Minister Not Welcomed at Jasenovac

ZAGREB, April 21, 2018 - Commenting on the possibility that Serbia's Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin might attend Sunday's commemoration for the victims of the World War II Jasenovac concentration camp, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Saturday said that that wouldn't be a good idea due to his previously unacceptable statements.

ZAGREB, April 19, 2018 - The president pf the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) Milorad Pupovac, who was a member of Croatia's parliamentary delegation which abruptly ended their visit to Belgrade following an incident caused by convicted war criminal Vojislav Šešelj, said the incident harmed the visit, Croatia-Serbia relations and Serbia.

Plenković Expects Serbia to Condemn Šešelj Incident

ZAGREB, April 19, 2018 - Prime Minister and leader of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) Andrej Plenković on Wednesday harshly condemned the incident by Vojislav Šeselj during the visit by Croatia's parliamentary delegation to Serbia, adding that in his opinion the delegation "appropriately responded to that sort of provocation."

Croatian Chamber of Commerce Opens Office in Belgrade

ZAGREB, April 19, 2018 - The Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) on Wednesday once again opened its office in Belgrade after five years and officials from both Croatia's and Serbia's chambers said that the economy needed and must be above politics, expressing regret over an incident caused by Vojislav Šešelj which cast a shadow on this economic event and caused the official visit by Croatia's parliamentary delegation to Belgrade to be abruptly terminated.

Serbian Ambassador Refuses Croatia’s Protest Note

ZAGREB, April 19, 2018 - Serbian Ambassador to Croatia Mira Nikolić on Wednesday evening refused to accept Croatia's protest note over the incident caused by far-right leader convicted of war crimes Vojislav Šešelj who stomped on the Croatian flag and shouted insults at Croatia's parliamentary delegation, the Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Ministry said in a press release.
