Slovenia Ready to Block Croatia's Entry into Schengen

ZAGREB, April 25, 2018 - At the end of a summit meeting of the Southeast Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP) held in Slovenia's resort Brdo Pri Kranju on Tuesday and attended also by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar did not rule out the possibility of blocking Croatia's entry into the Schengen area if Zagreb doesn't agree to implement an international arbitration ruling on the two countries' border dispute.

Croatia Will Meet Technical Criteria for Schengen Area This Year

ZAGREB, April 13, 2018 - After meeting with the European Commissioner for the Security Union Julian King in Zagreb on Friday, Interior Minister Davor Božinović said that Croatia would meet the technical criteria to enter the Schengen Area by the end of the year.

Romania and Croatia Advocate for Entry into Schengen

ZAGREB, March 9, 2018 - Romania wants to join the Schengen passport-free travel zone as soon as possible and fully supports Croatia in the same efforts, Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu said at a meeting with his Croatian counterpart Marija Pejčinović Burić in Zagreb on Friday. It is in the interests of both Romania and Bulgaria to join the Schengen area as soon as possible, Melescanu said at a joint press conference. We, of course, give full support to Croatia to join Schengen, he added.

Slovakia Supports Croatia in Schengen and OECD Accession

ZAGREB, February 19, 2018 - As a member of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Schengen area of passport-free movement, Slovakia wants to see Croatia join the two organisations, Slovak Foreign Minister Ivan Korčok said on Monday in Zagreb, where he arrived to share his country's experience in the presidency of the EU.

Italy Supports Croatia's Candidacy for Schengen Area and OECD

ZAGREB, January 18, 2018 - Italy supports Croatia in its efforts to join the Schengen Area and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano said in Rome on Thursday, adding that Croatia and Slovenia should resolve their border dispute through cooperation to their mutual satisfaction.
