ZAGREB, March 29, 2018 - Croatian President told Nova TV commercial broadcaster on Wednesday evening that she hoped that, by making a decision to expel one of the Russian diplomats from the country, Croatia did not make a bigger problem for itself in future relations with Russia "because Croatia cares about relations with Russia."

"I personally care about relations with Russia and I will continue to work on that. My invitation to President Vladimir Putin remains open. I hope that, in the time to come, we shall continue to resolve outstanding issues and the talks we launched at my meeting with President Putin in Sochi, and that we will overcome the current difficulties," Grabar-Kitarović said.

Asked about what she expected from Moscow, Grabar-Kitarović said: "It was up to Moscow to respond."

"I don't expect a response immediately. I believe that in the continuation of our relations we need to have good will and mutual respect and all of us need to invest efforts to remove any unclear points, not only in our mutual relations but also in regards to everything that has been happening over the past several days and weeks," the president said.
