An Astronomical Affair at Bačvice

By 15 June 2016

This Friday June 17, Bačvice will host a public viewing of the night sky with telescopes! The observation will begin when it first gets dark at about 21h, and will last until about 23h.

In an effort to promote astronomy and educate the public about the universe and the appearance of the sky above us, Zvjezdano selo Mosor intends to conduct public viewings of the night sky with telescopes.

This location was deemed most suitable for the implementation of astronomical activities, and the eastern part of the beach Bačvice is where this event will be held.

The demand for more astronomical activities, coupled with the transparency of our sky and the absence of major sources of light pollution, has made Bačvice a particularly attractive location for these purposes.

The intention is to attract as many interested citizens to join, especially hoping to draw in a younger audience. All who join will get an opportunity to take a look through the telescopes, all under the expert guidance of astronomers-animators ZSM-Zoran Knez and other members of their association.

On this selected evening, you should be able to see Jupiter, Mars and Saturn.

This event is dependent on the weather, and if the sky is cloudy or there are strong wings the event will be canceled.
