Classical Music Concert in Korčula: Ana Domančić and Srđan Bulat

The flute and guitar duo will perform on Tuesday night (July 10th) at 8pm in Korčula's St. Marc's Cathedral.


Ana Domančić (flute) and Srđan Bulat (guitar) have been performing as a duo for a while now, and this Tuesday they will perform for the classical music lovers on Korčula. 

Ana Domančić has been a flute professor and Head of Wind Instruments Department at the Arts Academy in Split since 1998. She is the author of a coursebook for university students. After her basic education she enrolled to the Academy of Music in Zagreb, she got her Bachelor’s degree with Prof. Tinka Muradori. More than 30 students earned their bachelor’s degrees with her, and now have a career as solo performers and professors. She regularly performs as a soloist with a number of chamber orchestras in Croatia, Algeria, Italy, France, Greece, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the US.

Srđan Bulat is an award-winning concert classical guitarist from Split, Croatia. He is one of the most successful classical guitarists of the new generation and the top prize winner at almost all of the most important international classical guitar competitions. He has won top prizes in Benicassim (‘Francisco Tarrega’), Almeria (‘Julian Arcas’), Alessandria (‘Michele Pittaluga’), Valencia (‘Alhambra’), Madrid (‘Gredos San Diego), London (‘London International Guitar Competition’), Rome (‘Fernando Sor’), just to name a few; and has also won numerous special awards for the best interpretation of Spanish music, which is featured prominently in all of his recital programmes. He has given many solo recitals around the world (London, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Oslo, Kopenhagen, Helsinki, New York, Chicago, Toronto), and has recorded two full length solo albums – his first for RTVE (Spanish National Radiotelevision), and his second for the prestigious recording company Naxos, which was released in September 2012.

Their programme for the evening will be designed for the connoisseurs of the classical music and these two instruments to enjoy, with pieces by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (1895-1968), Manuel de Falla (1876-1946), Isaac Albeniz (1960-1909), Croatian author Boris Papandopulo (1906-1991) and Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) whose pieces cover the history of tango.
The entrance fee to the concert is 30 kuna, so you shouldn't miss the concert if you love classical music performed in a classical atmosphere!
