Adventure Tourism: &adventure Has You Covered!

Daniela Rogulj

Adventure tourism is defined as exploration or travel with perceived (and possibly actual) risk, potentially requiring specialized skills and physical exertion. This type of tourism can include anything from kayaking to canyoning, mountain climbing to white water rafting, and essentially any thrill seeking activity in between. One particularly wonderful thing about Dalmatia is our terrain, with rocky cliffs, a smooth Adriatic sea, gushing rivers, and makeshift hiking and cycling trails galore. Lucky for you, we’ve got one particularly perfect company to suit your stimulated appetite, and it’s &adventure.

&adventure is a company founded nearly 10 years ago by experienced guides under one simple principle: to share their Dalmatian playground secrets with you. Offering a thrilling range of activities coupled with rich culture and domestic food and wine, &adventure brings you some of the best curated adventures right in the heart of some of Europe’s most spectacular scenery. They offer everything from sea kayaking to sailing, hiking, cycling, trail running, and adrenaline filled activities such as rock climbing, rafting, canyoning and ziplining. Essentially offering something for everyone, what better way to tour the coast?

One of the highlights &adventure offers is sea kayaking, and it’s pretty easy to see why. Named by Rough Guides among Croatia’s 17 unmissable things, sea kayaking is a unique and entertaining way to discover Croatia away from the crowds. From beginners to hard-core enthusiasts, &adventure offers programs to combine their intimate knowledge with the beauty and challenges of a spectacular rugged coast and 1244 islands. But really, where else can you kayak to a UNESCO World Heritage Site? They offer a few different sea kayaking excursions such as:

  • Their Vis Island tour takes 4 days and is suitable for 2-8 people. Here you will experience the open sea on Vis island, learning the history of the island in the midst of local food, wine, and people

  • Another popular option is kayak and sailing from Split to Dubrovnik. This tour is suitable for 6-12 people and takes 8 days. Combining kayaking and sailing, what better way to experience the Dalmatian coast?

  • A shorter tour, their Pakleni islands daily sea kayaking is one full day, suitable for 1-18 people. Here you will experience everything from Hvar to Pakleni islands, in the midst of the pines, clear blue coves, and the ultimate paradise.

The equipment provided for Sea kayaking are Prijon HTP sea kayaks. Some of the models they use are Kodiak, Seyak, Touryak and Poseidon. All kayaks are equipped with rudders. Neoprene covers, life vests, spry skirts and dry bags are provided. For day tours they use aluminum paddles while for the multi day programs they provide carbon paddles.

All information and FAQ’s are displayed on &adventure’s website, and you can contact them directly for pricing quotes and a more detailed guide to the experiences they offer. They will even help you customize and craft the adventure of your dreams (well, depending on your dreams, they’ll do their best).

These types of experiences and activities take you to explore the exhilarating roads less traveled. With their intimate knowledge of the terrain, passion for quality, high class service and certified safety, &adventure has got it all.
