July the 18th, 2023 – Gorgeous little Skradin is proving to be extremely popular among nautical tourists from all over the planet.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Skradin has long since been said to be a paradise for sailors. Lovers of the sea and sailing from all over the world moor there, and locals say that they welcome all guests with the same smile. Peace, quiet, privacy and an individual approach to each guest is the formula for the success of the business of Skradin marina, as HRT reports.

The Croats are lucky

Skradin is, among other things, also a favourite anchorage of the world’s elite. Many people of a higher purchasing power have been coming to Skradin for decades, referring to it (quite correctly) as a tiny little summer world of its own.

“The people from Skadin are cordial. It’s always like that here, I love this beautiful country. Croats are really lucky to have a country like this,” said one guest from Germany.

They emphasise that at Skradin marina that the human engagement is the key to success, as this is the real mirror of the destination. “This isn’t merely a job, it’s a calling. People should come and be satisfied, welcomed and sent off with a smile. Quality, professional and diligent staff, this is the key and all visitors insist on that. Our guests are modest and simple, they expect friendliness, helpfulness and the correct level of communication. They don’t have any big demands,” said Marijana Sladić, the receptionist at Skradin marina.

Those who choose to pay a visit to Skradin definitely know what they want, and 50 thousand sailors pass by the place where the river kisses the sea every single year.

“Skradin marina lives in symbiosis with the town. Everything that the town offers, the marina also offers. Skradin is a town full of historical and cultural heritage. More recently, it has also been adorned with the epithet of being a true gourmet lovers’ town,” explained Slaven Bogut, the director of Skradin marina.

A paradise for sailors

Since 1998, this has been a nautical “focal point”. The tavern can only be reached by water, and what’s native to Skradin and its surrounding areas and waters sells the best.

“We’re best known here for our sardines, tiger prawns, and clams,” said Jakov Petrović, the manager of the tavern. The rich history and magical nature of the Krka river and national park are naturally a global magnet, and photos taken in front of the gorgeous Krka waterfalls aren’t exactly a rarity to see.
